IMS as a workplace

At IMS we live the Montessori pedagogy. The supervision of the children, our daily structure and the material equipment meet international standards. We are also international – and bilingual. Many of our students grow up in bilingual families. Our German and English speaking teachers work in small learning groups and communicate with the children according to the language bath method, the immersion principle. This is how we design our school as a “place for kids to grow”. At IMS, there are currently over 120 children in grades 1-6 learning in mixed-age groups.

As an employer, we are particularly proud to work with an international team of professional and competent Montessori teachers. The individual development of all educators is as important to us as a cooperative approach to each other. We keep our vision “To create excellent Montessori places for Berlin and the surrounding area where children can grow” firmly in mind.

The staff at IMS work in a beautiful location in the historic rooms of the former Landhaus Oppenheim, a listed building. The Wannsee, which is within walking distance, is a natural idyll in the middle of the city. In the neighbourhood are sights such as the Liebermann Villa and the historic House of the Wannsee Conference. A glimpse into our classrooms (link).

I enjoy working with the children every day and see how they use the materials to make connections to their environment. Their curiosity and interest in such an variety of topics is inspiring.

I like working here because we are one big family.
