International Cooperations
At the International Montessori School Berlin, we view education as a bridge between cultures. Our international partnerships provide children, teachers, and families with valuable opportunities to connect across national borders. Through joint projects, regular exchanges, and dynamic partnerships, we promote global learning in the spirit of Maria Montessori—open, respectful, and forward-looking.
Nairobi Montessori School
The Nairobi Montessori School is a well-established Montessori school in Nairobi that provides individualized and holistic support for children in accordance with international standards. It is known for its strong Montessori focus and diverse learning environment.
We meet regularly online, develop joint Montessori projects, and share educational materials and experiences. Professional development sessions are held for teachers. One example was the topic “Prepared Environment,” in which, in addition to teachers from the IMS and the Nairobi Montessori School, colleagues from the Montessori Kinderhaus Wannsee and the IMS after-school care program also participated.
Our school community benefits from international Montessori practices, new ideas for teaching, and genuine cultural encounters.
Gracewill Community Homes
Gracewill Community Homes is a nonprofit organization in Murang’a that implements educational and social projects for children and families and sustainably strengthens local communities.
Together, we engage in social projects, support local initiatives, and create opportunities for dialogue about responsibility and social solidarity. Our students get to know children from Kenya, share experiences, and develop joint projects close to their hearts.
This partnership fosters empathy and social responsibility and raises awareness of global interconnections—far beyond the classroom.
Brookside International School

Brookside International School is an international school in Kenya that supports children in an open, modern learning environment. Diversity, cultural exchange, and project-based learning shape their daily routine.
During weekly virtual meetings, our classes work together on projects, share their work, and learn from one another. This is planned and supervised by Mr. Hiram (Principal of Brookside International School) and IMS Principal Alexander Delport. Looking ahead, we would like to expand this collaboration to include virtual class partnerships and educational workshops. Our children experience authentic international encounters, strengthen their English skills, and broaden their perspective on the world.
We regularly post updates about our international activities on our Facebook page. Read more here:

Alexander Delport Headmaster IMS
“When children from Berlin and Kenya work together on projects, share stories, and learn from one another, the result is far more than a simple exchange—it creates a valuable bond of friendship, understanding, and mutual respect. This partnership opens our students’ eyes to other cultures, shows that education knows no borders, and teaches them how enriching it is to discover the world together. It reminds us that true connection transcends national borders and that learning and growing together is our greatest adventure.”

James Waitherero Catering Manager IMS
“Gracewill & Friends Community Homes (GFCH) was founded out of a desire to give hope and dignity to disadvantaged children. The name Gracewill has a deeply personal meaning: it honors my mother, Grace, whose compassion touched many lives. Her willingness to help inspired me, and so Gracewill stands both for Grace’s desire to serve others and for the belief that grace strengthens the will to help.”
