Our workgroups
Our all-day offer
We are there for the children from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Classes start at 8:30 am and end between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. The children can choose between full-day care from 7:30 to 16:00 or from 7:30 to 18:00. During this time, we offer a variety of extracurricular activities. Thanks to the location of the IMS in the countryside and on the Wannsee, forest and nature education is a focal point of our after-school activities.
Support and care from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
From 7:30 a.m. we offer individual early care for all grades. The needs of the children are very different. Depending on their wishes, there is room for resting, reading, playing board games or talking with peers or our pedagogical staff. Parallel to the open start of lessons, we offer a breakfast club for all grades from 8:30 to 8:50 am.
The lunch band begins at 12:00 and ends between 13:00 and 14:00, depending on the year and day of the week. In addition to lunch, all year groups have an extensive play and exercise time on the school grounds. For years 1-3, reading time follows on Mondays to Wednesdays.
In the afternoon free time from the end of lessons until 16:00, the children have the opportunity for free play – indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather. Our teachers have suggestions for movement, board games and sharing. From 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m., students in grades 1-3 can take part in varied educational activities three times a week. There is a choice of forest afternoons, movement games, a media club, a creative workshop and a school garden group. Daily workshops for all grades round off the programme until 4 pm. These include our “Choir for Kids”, theatre, dance and taekwondo activities, as well as the group that looks after our leaf-cutter ants.
Encouragement and care until 18:00
Many children of all grades stay with us after 4 pm. Until 6 p.m., our pedagogical specialists accompany the free play with pedagogical suggestions. In addition, these children can also take part in further AGs after 4 pm. These include football, chess, a media club and a school newspaper club.
Cooperation with external partners
Every day, external partners offer additional workshops exclusively for IMS students. For these particularly individual or elaborate offers, interested parents can conclude fee-based contracts directly with the respective providers. We are pleased that our children can take advantage of offers such as the sailing club, piano, guitar or flute lessons, tennis or the wood workshop.
